Salish Lodge & Spa Apple Butter

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs HoneyCrisp Apples
  • 6.5 oz. Honey
  • 1.5 cups Apple Cider
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • .5 lb sugar

Method:

  1. Peel, core & cut apples into 1 inch pieces
  2. Combine honey, apples, salt & cider into a pot
  3. Cook on high with lid ajar until liquid is almost reduced & apples are soft
  4. Cut heat & use a hand mixer to blend until smooth.
  5. Add sugar to apple mixture
  6. On medium heat reduce mixture, stirring occasionally under apples are a dark golden brown
  7. Cool down in pan & once cooled, portion & freeze
